Austin, Texas (PRWEB) November 15, 2007 -- Enzoology, a child-inspired edutainment video series, has gained notoriety on the web in a matter of weeks. Developed around the interests of a seven- year- old boy, the series is now motivating children on the internet to learn about science. Discovered on YouTube, Enzo, the creator of the series, will appear on The Ellen DeGeneres Show which will air on Friday, November 16th.
The site became popular overnight, gaining 2,000 visitors the first week with the numbers growing exponentially each week thereafter. Enzo Monfre in his natural, effervescent and humorous style educates his friends online about the fascinating oddities of his friend's in nature - spiders, lizards, bugs, etc.
The idea and initial interest in Enzoology was originated by Enzo, himself. Weeks into the experiment of supporting Enzo's dream to do YouTube videos, his parents, Pete and Heidi Monfre, starting getting emails from homeschooling parents, teachers and kids requesting more video segments. The boy's parents have used their graphic design, video and web skills to empower his vision.
"Enzo has created this experience," states Enzo's Dad, "He originated the idea and had the desire; we simply have supported him through the process. This experience is a testimony to the fact that when an idea is truly unique and offers value, it can spread virally over the web reaching a global audience."
The popularity of the site likely comes from its non-commercial nature, Enzo's spontaneous approach and his genuine fascination with science. The series demonstrates an interesting juxtaposition of child leadership providing motivation by example for other kids. This phenomenon is rarely seen in an authentic way; it is similar to the role Bindi has assumed since Steve Irwin's death
"I love learning about science, 'cause there are so many fascinating things about nature that are true in real-life," says Enzo. "It is also fun to have my Mom and Dad with me while we do the videos. We have traveled to SeaWorld, The University of Texas and now the Ellen DeGeneres show - it's great!"
Parents, teachers and children can be assured that all content and formatting of the series will be wholesome and child appropriate. In the future, Enzo's Dad plans on providing the series in HD format to meet the future needs of education sites.
Based upon the fact that Enzo's Mom battled cancer, the site has an association with the Lance Armstrong Foundation to support the fight against cancer.
