Former Ratner Prestia Shareholder Daniel Calder Joins Volpe and Koenig

Daniel N. Calder becomes the first lateral shareholder hire for Volpe and Koenig since the firm's inception twenty years ago.

Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) November 21, 2007 -- Daniel N. Calder has joined Philadelphia-based intellectual property law firm Volpe and Koenig as a shareholder.

The former Ratner Prestia shareholder becomes the first lateral shareholder hire since Volpe and Koenig's inception twenty years ago. An IP practitioner for more than 30 years, Calder has served as in-house patent counsel for J.C. Penney and RCA, with extensive patent prosecution and litigation experience. With a focus on technology, Calder pioneered patent portfolio development in the field of solar cell technology.

"Dan's patent, trademark and copyright litigation experience over more than three decades as in-house and outside counsel made him uniquely qualified to join us as a shareholder," said firm president Anthony Volpe. "This caps a year of enormous growth for our law firm."

Calder received his J.D. from the University Of Toledo College Of Law. He received his B.S. from Pennsylvania State University. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, D.C. and New York, as well as the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

With Calder's hire, Volpe and Koenig has nearly 40 professionals and a total staff of more than 100 employees, making the intellectual property boutique among the largest in the region. Celebrating their 20th anniversary in 2007, the firm recently leased additional floors to accommodate growth in the United Plaza.
