President George W. Bush, Chairman hosted the Mideast Peace Summit at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland on November 27, 2007. The Summit included delegations from 49 countries, including select Arab states and other key nations with a stake in the Mideast peace. The Summit is meant to commit Israel and the Palestinians to formal peace talks that carry international backing.
