Logan, UT (PRWEB) December 1, 2007 -- The Logan Corporation Dynamic Screening Solutions Inc. has announced the launch of The ONE Application, a new web-based solution that will significantly reduce administrative costs for several State programs. The ONE Application simplifies the paperwork process and shortens the time it takes for families to complete and submit multiple applications. The complicated process that families face when applying for state assistance programs prompted a team from Utah State University to develop the web-based solution for consolidating the application process for state programs.
Originally known as the Universal Application System, The ONE Application minimizes time and travel costs for families and significantly reduces administrative costs for participating state programs. "Applying for public programs can be extremely confusing and cumbersome for families," said Adrienne Akers, president and CEO of Dynamic Screening Solutions Inc. "Filling out the same information over and over is a turn off for most people. "
Known in Utah as Utah Clicks (www.utahclicks.org ), this interagency application process helps families complete and submit the paperwork for six Utah programs: Medicaid, Children's Health Insurance Program, Baby Your Baby, Early Head Start/Head Start, Children with Special Health Care Needs, and Baby Watch/Early Intervention. Other programs will be added. The current application process evolved from a project originally developed by Akers and colleagues from the Center for Persons with Disabilities at Utah State University.
"We didn't try to solve all the problems of the western world," Akers said. "We chose to solve a very specific problem -- helping families complete the paperwork for government services -- and we tailored the system for that purpose." Because of its innovative approach to a targeted problem, Utah Clicks won an Innovation Award from the Council of State Governments in 2006. This recognition drew the attention from a number of states. The new grant will help market and distribute The ONE Application to customers in other states. Utah and Indiana are currently under contract and other states, such as New York, Oregon, Ohio, Nevada, South Carolina, Kansas, Vermont, Minnesota and Arizona, have expressed interest in The ONE Application.
The Utah Governor's Office of Economic Development also provides support to Dynamic Screening Solutions, Inc. and similar efforts help to viable companies spin out from Utah colleges and universities. For more information about The ONE Application please visit www.go-dss.com or contact Adrienne Akers at 435.752.9129.
About The ONE Application The ONE Application begins with a series of screening questions for the consumer, and then it lists the programs for which they may be eligible. After the consumer selects programs to which they want to apply, The ONE Application streamlines the paperwork process by compiling questions from all applications so each question is asked only once. The information is then submitted to each program, and eligibility is determined according to each program's standards. The ONE Application is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week in English and Spanish.
