Continuent Announces Innovative Open Source Database Proxy

New proxy solution provides seamless integration between applications and clustered MySQL and PostgreSQL databases.

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) December 11, 2007 -- Continuent, Inc., the leading provider of commercial open source middleware solutions for database high-availability and scalability, today announced a new release of its open source database proxy solution, Myosotis.

"Continuent is excited to announce prepared statement support for the Myosotis SQL connector. Myosotis is an innovative SQL proxy that allows MySQL® and PostgreSQL native clients to connect transparently to Sequoia database clustering without changes to application code or library changes. Myosotis works on Windows®, Linux® and Solaris® operating systems," says Robert Hodges, CTO at Continuent.

With complete SQL support including prepared statements, Myosotis now covers the full gamut of API calls used by client applications that connect to Sequoia, the leading open source database clustering solution developed and supported by Continuent. This release of Myosotis completely replaces previous library-based solutions requiring complex linking and configuration. Installation and configuration of Myosotis can be completed within a few minutes and do not require any application changes.

Myosotis is also the basis of Continuent's uni/cluster Connector, a native-client proxy for Continuent uni/cluster, a commercial database high-availability and high-performance solution.

Myosotis is available at http://myosotis.continuent.org.
