Mardi Gras in Atlanta

MYSTICK KREWE des ACADIENS, the only authentic Carnival Society in Atlanta, will host its thirteenth Annual Black-tie Masked Ball on Saturday, February 2, 2008, at the Egyptian Ballroom in the Fabulous Fox Theatre.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) December 14, 2007 -- Atlanta's only authentic Carnival Society, the MYSTICK KREWE des ACADIENS will host its thirteenth Annual Black-tie Masked Ball on Saturday, February 2, 2008, at the Egyptian Ballroom in the Fabulous Fox Theatre. Your $90.00 Invitation covers all of the evening's festive events and benefits a worthy Atlanta area charity. In the long-standing benevolent charitable tradition of Louisiana's Mardi Gras Krewes, our Krewe will once again donate $5,000.00 to this year's charity designate. Our cumulative charity total amounts to over $70,000.00 including this year's donation. Past recipients have included St. Vincent de Paul, Prader-Willi Syndrome, the Joseph Sams School and Hurricane Katrina Relief. In our own way, we have a positive impact on metro Atlanta residents who need assistance. Some are "forgotten" charities, and it is our pleasure to extend our small donation to these organizations, thanks to the friends and families who attend our Ball. The MYSTICK KREWE des ACADIENS' charitable contribution is made possible by funds received from your invitation. IN 2007, THE KREWE DONATED $5,000 TO METROPOLITAN ATLANTA SERENITY HOUSE.

Here's what to expect:

In keeping with the tradition of a true Mardi Gras Bal Masqué, WE REQUIRE ALL GUESTS TO WEAR FORMAL ATTIRE.

Doors open promptly at 6:30 p.m. Cocktails and snacks will be served from four cash bars in the Grand Salon.

At precisely 7:30 p.m., the Captain will open the doors to the Egyptian Ballroom for our guests' Grand Entrance.

As the excitement builds, ushers will help you find the proper table, as the excitement builds.

Everyone must be seated by 8:00 p.m., as the ballroom doors are sealed, and the royal pageant begins. If you leave during the Tableau, you will not be permitted to return to the Ballroom.

The doors are shut for the duration of the Tableau, so that only those privileged enough to be seated inside can view the Court.

Our Krewe members, most of who have cultural or ethnic ties to Louisiana, have kept intact all of the old New Orleans Mardi Gras traditions. As part of that tradition, we will have Mardi Gras beads and favors for you!

The high point of the evening arrives:

We present to you our Tableau! This year's theme is EDEN ON THE BAYOU.

The Coronation of our Queen Evangeline and investiture of our King Gabriel, the spectacular Grand March and the unmasking of the Royal Court will amaze and astound you as true identities are revealed.

The King and Queen of Mardi Gras and their Royal Court of Dukes and Maids will promenade before you in their new glittering costumes as the revelry begins in earnest!

Masked Revelers will close the Tableau by tossing their shiny doubloons and brightly colored Mardi Gras beads to the crowd.

Louisiana Buffet:

After the Tableau and Revelry, we welcome you to return to the Grand Salon for a veritable feast of Southwest Louisiana delicacies.

Chef Kern Chiasson's food is always the talk of the evening, and we have asked him to return once more.

There is a cash bar in the Grand Salon. By city ordinance, no outside alcohol is permitted.

Invitations are $90.00 Individually ~ $180.00 per Couple
