Rimeco Products introduces the Kwik-Clamp, a new workholding system designed to increase productivity by drastically decreasing the time a VMC spindle stands idle. KWIK-CLAMP is a patented, dual unit, fixture quick-change system that quickly mounts to any existing Indexer and Vertical Machining Center. The system is unique because it operates on the principle of exchanging fixtures rather than exchanging individual pieces. Parts are loaded into the fixtures outside of the machine while the machine continues to run. Fixture exchange takes seconds drastically decreasing the time the machine stands idle. Any existing or new fixture is easily modified to be compatible with the KWIK-CLAMP system. Rather than increasing capacity, the KWIK-CLAMP is a cost effective method of increasing the productivity of existing equipment and employees.

KWIK-CLAMP begins cutting costs right at the start of any new process by simplifying fixture design. Rather than focusing on how to clamp the fixture onto the Indexer or machine table, the fixture designer will hold each fixture the same way every time. Each fixture is held onto the KWIK-CLAMP with a standard retention knob and located on the surface plate with two dowel pins located 2 ½" or 4" apart, depending on fixture size.

KWIK-CLAMP eliminates the need for clamping and indicating the fixture onto the table or indexer, significantly decreasing set-up time. With the flip of a switch the KWIK - CLAMP system holds any fixture into place with up to 3800 lbs of pressure at 80 psi. The faceplate of each unit is identical allowing parts to be transferred directly from the indexer to the vertical without removing them from the fixture. This allows multiple operations to be combined into one program, enabling parts to be manufactured from bar stock to completion. Completing a part in one program aids in quality control and significantly reduces scrap. Repeatability within each unit or within the dual unit system is better than .0002". The indexer unit holds the same accuracy as the indexer or 4th axis.
