Green Bay, WI (PRWEB) January 5, 2008 -- The Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity feature Danny Flowers' "Prayer Song" as their January Song of the Month, available as a free download at www.fscc-calledtobe.org/living/.

Guitarist-songwriter Danny Flowers may be best known for writing such songs as "Tulsa Time" (Don Williams, Eric Clapton) and "Before Believing (Emmylou Harris)

"Prayer Song," a highlight of his recent "Tools For The Soul" album, was inspired by an experience playing a series of singer songwriter performances in Sundance, Utah. According to Danny, "'Prayer Song' invokes the Heavenly Father to 'let there be life' and makes a strong statement about war and the senselessness of it all and how 'no one is right'. My dear friend Emmylou Harris was gracious enough to sing harmony with me on the recording and my brother Bill Miller came over as well and played flute and added the second vocal harmony .... I hope this song touches you in your heart and inspires you to join me in the affirmation 'let there be life' until it truly comes to pass."

"Prayer Song" is part of an online meditation that includes an image of Caravaggio's "The Conversion of St. Paul", in light of January being the month of National Catholic Vocations Awareness week.

"We want to present our life as a viable option. Personal invitation is always best; however, we became convinced that real conversations can begin by using the language of images and music," said Sr. Julie Ann Sheahan, OSF, Directress of Vocations for the Franciscan order.

Established in 1869, the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity serve in Catholic health care, education and parish ministries in 13 U.S. dioceses (Green Bay, Superior, Milwaukee, Phoenix, Tucson, Honolulu, Chicago, Marquette, Jackson, Lincoln, Omaha, Columbus and Steubenville).
