As the United States prepares to go to war, a Houston based small-business is preparing to support soldiers and their families. TheSmileBox.Com, an online care package company since 1999, recently launched a new website www.Military-CarePackages.Com allowing anyone to send US troops care packages.

According to TheSmileBox.Com owner Shannon Rubio, "we built this site based on quite a bit of feedback from soldiers and their families. We didn't want to offer the same old package with a new name-our goal was to provide the items soldiers truly need. This is the first time the United States has gone to war and family members of soldiers and even complete strangers have the ability to send their support straight from their home computer."

Military-CarePackages.com offers several care packages from which family members can choose, with an assortment of snacks and requested supplies, games, magazines and more. Furthermore, based on the requests from soldiers, all orders come with the most requested item-a roll of toilet paper. Rubio says, "Apparently military issue toilet paper is pretty rough so we made that item standard in every package."

The company is also currently working on partnerships with various soldier adoption programs so that even people without a family member serving can send a package. She says, "We have already received e-mails from people wanting to know how to send a package to a solider if they do not know one. It's wonderful to see people rally behind the troops like this."

TheSmileBox.Com has been selling care packages online for over 3 years and currently runs 3 care package companies including TheSmileBox.Com, CarePackageCreations.Com and Military-CarePackages.Com. The business is owned by a mother-daughter team from the Houston area. #######
