From Ararat to America: Works from 17 Contemporary Armenian Artists to be Featured at Special Exhibit Hosted by Forest Lawn-Glendale

What:    Opening VIP and Media Reception: “From Ararat to America”

    Unprecedented collection of art by contemporary Armenian artists will be featured in a 12-week exhibit at Forest Lawn Memorial-Park in Glendale

Who:    All greater Los Angeles media covering art or Armenia are welcome to come to the opening reception to meet the artists, view their works, and interact with local dignitaries and Forest Lawn executives

    Artists featured in the exhibit include many who have gained worldwide recognition for their works and contributions to the art community. The following artists’ work will be included in the exhibit: Martiros Adalian, Raffi Adalyan, Vladimir Atanian, Vahe Berberian, Vahe Fattal, Charles Garabedian, Gaspar Gharibyan, Kaloust Guedel (Guedelekian), Vachag (Vachik Der-Sarkisian), Samvel Harbardzumyan, Narine Isajanyan, Emil Kazaz, Alina Mnatsakanian, Alexander Sadoyan, Sev (Henrik Khachatryan), Zadik Zadikian, Zareh, and Suren Karapetian.

Information:    The exhibit is a celebration of Armenian art and artists in Los Angeles and a memorial to persecution of Armenians over the years. While memories of hardship and persecution are an integral part of the Armenian cultural, so is a rich collection of forms and images, skills and attitudes, all combining in the distinctive visions of the artists whose works are on display and who made the journey “From Ararat to America.”

     “From Ararat to America” is part of Forest Lawn Museum Presents events which are designed to bring a diverse mix of community, cultural, and historic art and artists to the greater Los Angeles community.
