Capstone / Foundation Simulation Winners Announced Management Simulations, Inc., Northfield, IL announced the winners of the Capstone / Foundation Business Simulation Challenge Dan Smith, president of Management Simulations, Inc., announced the winners of the Spring, 2003 Capstone / Foundation Business Simulation International Competition. The competition began with 423 teams, totaling 854 participants.
Teams were judged on cumulative profit.
Of the top six finishers in the Capstone Business Simulation category, two schools each placed twice, a remarkable achievement: Vanderbilt University(1st and 4th) and St. Andrews Presbyterian College (3rd and 6th).
In the Capstone Business Simulation category, the winners and their professors were:
1st place: Vanderbilt University: Student Scott Barnett - The Strategy Club, Professor Kevin Clark 2nd place: University of Florida: Student Travis Bond - Professor John Hall 3rd place: St. Andrews Presbyterian College: Students Peter Gut, David Miyamoto and Toby Neher - Professor James Hansz 4th place: Vanderbilt University: Student Garvin Chan - The Strategy Club, Professor Kevin Clark 5th place: Webster University: Student Yasen Li - Professor Renee English 6th place: St. Andrews Presbyterian College: Student Rebecca Baker - Professor James Hansz.
In the Foundation Business Simulation category, one school finished twice among the six finalists, the University of New Orleans. Another remarkable achievement.

Students managed simulated corporations making decisions in Research and Development, Human Resources, Marketing, Production and Finance. Each of these categories involved making many analyses and decisions, with eight simulated years of operation taking place in one week. The finals compressed eight years of management into one day.
Management Simulations offered it's congratulations to the winning students, all entrants and their professors.
