StitchCraft Celebrates Grand Opening in Petaluma

Hip new store in historic downtown Petaluma offers sewing classes & more.

Petaluma, CA (PRWEB) February 8, 2008 -- StitchCraft is Petaluma's brand new sewing & craft studio and they offer classes for all levels and all ages. Come learn how to make a skirt, a pillow or a bag. Learn to make your own patterns! Learn to make jewelry, stationery and countless other crafts. They also carry hip fabrics, patterns and kits by indie designers and all the supplies you need for your projects.

StitchCraft is designed to be a fun and inspirational place to come learn to sew and craft. They provide a fully stocked sewing studio with a variety of sewing machines and sergers. They also have large cutting and worktables, a professional dress form, irons and ironing boards. StitchCraft carries everything you might need for your classes and offers a discount on supplies to students taking classes there. Be sure to allow time to shop for your supplies before the classes start! The group classes are priced at an affordable $12 per hour per student and have a maximum of 5 students per class. Class schedules are posted one month in advance and classes will fill up quickly so be sure to sign up early.

In addition to classes, StitchCraft is open for studio rental. So feel free to come in and use the machines and equipment! Studio time is priced at $10 per hour and is available whenever classes are not being held so be sure to check the class schedule for open studio times. And yes, they also offer private lessons. They are reasonably priced at $30 per hour for one student and $10 for each additional student. Feel free to call or drop in to set up a lesson.

StitchCraft is owned and operated by Nicole Vasbinder. Nicole has many years of teaching experience and was one of the founding teachers at Stitch Lounge in San Francisco and continues to teach at Stonemountain and Daughter Fabrics in Berkeley. She has designed and operated the independent accessory line Queen Puff Puff since 2003 and sells her designs to stores all over the United States as well as stores in Japan, Canada and the United Kingdom. Prior to starting her own company, she worked as a designer and merchandiser in the garment industry for companies such as Biscotti and Aqua Blues. She is an alumnus of the Academy of Art University and Otis College of Art & Design and her designs have been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Adorn Magazine, JoAnn Magazine, CROQ Zine, Venus Zine and Craft.
