ARS Technologies Introduces 64bit Support Under Linux Operating System

ARS Technologies released software support for 64bit versions of Linux operating system. This new software will allow Linux enthusiasts to use ARS Technologies' USB2 and SSI2 families of peripheral devices.

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) February 13, 2008 -- San Diego based hardware and software manufacturer ARS Technologies released software support for 64bit versions of Linux Operating System. This new software will allow Linux enthusiasts to use ARS Technologies' USB2 and SSI2 families of peripheral devices.

The majority of today's installations of Linux are 32 bit. But most of the microprocessors entering the market are 64bit capable. This shift in processing power had left owners of Linux 64bit processors without the option of using ARS Technologies' 32bit supported USB2- and SSI2-based devices.

ARS Technologies expects rapid transitioning and use of 64bit releases of Linux operating system. To address this growing need, ARS Technologies developed, tested and released 64bit Linux support as apart of its installation software.

Roughly 10-20% of ARS Technologies clients use Linux OS. The release of 64bit Linux support will allow these user's to update their hardware in the future and continue to use ARS Technologies' USB2 and SSI2 peripherals.

ARS Technologies existing and new customers can download the software for free from the the company's website. The software supports these environments:

- Windows - 98, ME, 2000, XP, 2003 and Vista

- Linux - 2.4.xx and 2.6 kernels

- Mac OS X - 10.4 and 10.5
