VeriLAN, LLC, an Oregon based wireless solutions provider, was contracted by the Oregon Coast Cyber Cafe to design and install a wireless network to allow residents of the coastal towns of Manzanita, Wheeler, Rockaway, Nehalem, and Brighten/Nedonna to receive high speed wireless Internet access in their homes.

Harry Geil, Chairman of the Board of the Oregon Coast Cyber Cafe stated, ?DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) is available in some parts of the Oregon Coast, but it is limited. Wireless broadband will provide connectivity to people who cannot qualify for DSL because of distance or other constraints. With wireless Internet, the Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) that VeriLAN implemented provides signal in excess of 20 square miles, which includes signal over the Pacific Ocean.? He further stated, ?I am excited to go test this connection and determine how far out to sea we can go.?
