Austin, TX (PRWEB) February 15, 2008 -- In an industry "first" Lafe's Natural Bodycare announced today that they will introduce a groundbreaking baby product line with packaging that is completely free of harmful estrogenic activity (EA) at the Natural Products Expo West tradeshow in Anaheim, CA on March 14, 2008. Citing the alarming rise of infertility in young couples and the concerns around the negative impact that endocrine disruptors have on hormonal functions in children, Founder and CEO Lafe Larson says concerned parents will finally have a worry-free choice. Lafe's Organic Baby, including baby shampoo and bodywash, lotion, massage oil and other baby products, will be bottled in a new, patented EA free "clean" resin. The packaging will be free of common endocrine disruptors Bisphenol A and phthalates, and all Lafe's Organic Baby products contain certified organic ingredients.

In recent years, many common household products have been reported to contain or release chemicals with high levels of EA that negatively affect hormonal functions in adults, children and babies. EA can cause significant adverse effects on growth rates, early puberty and learning abilities including attention deficit issues. For men, compromised reproductive functions including the reduction of male sperm count can occur in their 20s and early 30s as they prepare to start families.

Larson says the fight for cleaner packaging is gaining momentum and the time for offering EA free products is now. "I started this company in the mid-90s in order to fight the effects of harmful chemicals that many body care products--particularly deodorants--were having on consumers," Larson said. "I've always been convinced of the link between toxic chemicals found in everyday personal care products and disease, and we continually work to formulate with botanical ingredients that promote good health. Now we understand that what's in the packaging is as important as what is in the product. Studies indicate that chemicals that leech from everyday plastic bottles can have alarming long-term health effects on babies. Our goal is to empower consumers to choose safer products that reduce their exposure to toxic packaging. In doing this, we are leading the way in our industry by adopting higher standards in product packaging."

Lafe's Organic Baby will also be introducing sunscreen, bug repellant, diaper cream and baby wipes later this year, as well as EA free deodorant for pregnant women.

"At Lafe's we're committed to making cleaner, greener, toxin-free baby products that reduce exposure to harmful chemicals," Larson said.

Larson will be at Booth #3922 during ExpoWest. Products for adults include a wide variety of natural deodorants and foot sprays which are formulated with certified organic ingredients and always free of paraben and propylene glycol.
