A Deadly Twist Receives Top Award

Journalist honored for chiropractic stroke reporting.

Wethersfield, CT (PRWEB) February 16, 2008 -- The Chiropractic Stroke Awareness Group (CSAG) would like to congratulate journalist Jennifer Wolff for receiving the prestigious Front Page Award for her May 2007 article in Self Magazine called "A Deadly Twist" which provided a comprehensive account of strokes being caused by chiropractic neck manipulations.

"This recognition of Ms. Wolff's investigative report is well deserved," said Britt Harwe Founder of CSAG. "We are grateful that she brought the issue of chiropractic neck manipulation causing stroke to a nationwide audience."

The Front Page Awards, presented by the Newswomen's Club of New York for excellence in journalism, spotlight outstanding work by women in print, broadcast, and online media. Entries are carefully reviewed by panels of judges who are selected for their impressive credentials and contributions to the media.

"The Newswoman's Club of New York should also be applauded for recognizing this significant piece of journalism," Harwe said. "Ms. Wolff had to dig deep to get past the chiropractic industry's cover-ups and distortions about the connection between neck manipulations and stroke."

A third of all strokes happen in people under the age of 55 and because so many young people try alternative treatments CSAG feels it is important that the public be aware that stroke can happen as a result of a chiropractic manipulation.

CSAG represents hundreds of people across the country who have been injured by chiropractic treatment. Potential risks can include stroke, permanent disability and even death.
