Finally Software Announces Trusted Computing Base Management System for SELinux and IPSec

Bishops Stortford, UK (PRWEB) July 16,2003 -- Finally Software today announced OneTCB, a security management system for secure Trusted Computing Base (TCB) components of a computer network. These components are secure operating systems used in network host computers and secure communication protocols between these computers. Currently, OneTCB provides operating system security through security-enhanced Linux (SELinux) and communication security through IP security (IPSec).

SELinux provides a strong, mandatory access control system based on user authentication of communicating parties plus confidentiality and integrity of communication messages. OneTCB provides administration and management of both systems, integrated as a transparent trusted computing base.

Components

1.    Security interface for the remote administration and management of SELinux policies at individual host computers.

2.    Security interface for administration and management of communication security policies for IPSec protocol at individual host machines and also in the LAN.

3.    OnePKI clients at each host computer allowing integration with OnePKI CA servers and enabling IPSec modules to use X-509 certificates.

4.    SELinux installation package with predefined default security policy.

5.    IPSec installation package with predefined security parameters.

·    Labelling of IPSec packets by SELinux components provides harmonized and transparent uniform access control and authorisation policy across a local environment.
