Big Chicken Initiates Name-Change For "The WorldÂs Biggest And Busiest Airport!" Renaming of Atlanta, Georgia's airport is a HOT news-topic! Friends of the BIG Chicken Association has proposed "GKC" International Airport to honor Nobel PEACE Prize winners - Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., and Jimmy Carter. ATLANTA, GA (PRWEB) August 13, 2003 Honorable ÂPEACE-loving citizens throughout the City of Atlanta, the State of Georgia, and ALL over the Earth are being invited to sign a new Internet Peace-petition to assist in renaming "The WorldÂs Biggest And Busiest Airport"  Hartsfield Atlanta Airport! The Friends of the BIG Chicken Association, to celebrate their 10th anniversary, has been looking for a Âcourageous project to sponsor. In light of this, the project that has been selected is the "GKC" International Airport Petition (the ÂGKC representing internationally known Nobel Peace Prize recipients... Gandhi, King, and Carter). The City of Atlanta is becoming known internationally as "Atlanta- The City of PEACE!" At the new Internet petition site (http://www.GKC-Airport.com) you may click the "View Current Signatures" link to see who has signed. Although the petition is still very new, so far there are individuals signing from these 29 USA states: California, Michigan, Washington DC, Oregon, Texas, Wisconsin, Colorado, New York, Illinois, North Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Connecticut, Arkansas, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, Nevada, South Carolina, Mississippi, Florida, Arizona, Ohio, Massachusetts, Louisiana, Hawaii, Washington State, and Tennessee. Plus 41 countries of the Earth are already represented: including Germany, Australia, France, Indonesia, Finland, Bangladesh, Korea, Romania, Peru, Luxembourg, Tanzania, Mexico, Liberia, Iran, Phillipines, Trinidad-West Indies, Czech Republic, Ecuador, Ireland, Russia, Guinea, Switzerland, Malaysia, Eritrea, United States, Gabon, Bulgaria, Nigeria, Canada, Holland, Mauritania, India, Kenya, United Kingdom, and Zaire. This new Internet petition serves the 'cause of peace' well, and also promotes Atlanta as being an international city, and a peaceful city!!! The petition sponsors are NOW inviting ALL Public Relations and Advertising companies (in metro-Atlanta, and everywhere!) to offer their talented assistance in bringing the "GKC" International Airport Petition to the LOCAL, STATEWIDE, REGIONAL, NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL MEDIA CIRCUITS. Whatever promotion they want to offer in assistance of renaming the airport to honor Gandhi, King, and Carter will be welcomed! Let's ALL work together to provide our home, Mother Earth, with a Capital of PEACE! Our goal is a minimum of 10,000,000 signatures!!! The goal is to unite millions of PEACE lovers around the world who can sign the petition at: http://www.GKC-Airport.com Considering that Dulcinea the BIG Chicken (the sponsoring organizationÂs namesake) has as her lifeÂs mission to teach others about becoming more courageous, the Friends of the BIG Chicken Association wanted to select a project that would best represent 'COURAGE'. As world famous author CS Lewis says, "COURAGE is not simply one of the virtues. Courage is the form of every virtue at its testing point!" The beautiful lives of these 3 internationally respected Nobel Peace Prize winners represent COURAGE very well! Let's HONOR them! Petition author, Johnny D'Farmer, has climbed the tallest communication tower in metro-Atlanta to promote the GKC International Airport name change. For a brief story on this go to this Channel 11 news link: http://www.11alive.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=35960 Regarding the renaming of the airport, presently, the names of two very worthy (yet only regionally known) former mayors are now being considered. Current City of Atlanta mayor, Shirley Franklin, has appointed a 17-member commission to search for proper ways to honor former Atlanta Mayors Ivan Allen Jr., and Maynard Jackson Jr., both of whom died recently. But considering that Atlanta is such an internationally respected city, the supporters of the "GKC" Intl. Airport Petition would like individuals of considerable international recognition, contribution, and accomplishment to be selected (Gandhi, King, and Carter). Martin Luther King Jr. & Jimmy Carter are from Georgia, so it is NATURAL to want honor them! Jimmy Carter is the MOST productive former US President in the history of our country! And regarding Martin Luther King Jr., on August 28, 1963 he blessed us ALL with his GREAT "I Have A Dream!" speech! So, to assist in celebrating the 40th Anniversary of his GREAT speech (and his 75th birthday), it is natural to want to honor him as BEST we can! And for powerful international diplomacy, the East can be "married" to the West when Gandhi is honored too... hence: "GKC" International Airport! Why honor Gandhi too? Because Martin Luther King Jr. was his MOST productive 'student', and author Sheshrao Chavan declares: "If the stature of men and women is to be measured by the fact that their ideas progress with increasing validity and momentum as time passes farther and farther beyond their own life, Mahatma Gandhi "The Man of the Millennium" stands in lonely eminence! The ideas and actions which Gandhi placed before the world are being acknowledged as capable of finding solutions to some of the most pressing issues faced by humankind as we move towards a new millennium in which wealth generation, political organization, social ordering and spiritual creativity are undergoing a revolutionary transformation!" For greater peace within yourself, your community, and in ALL the world, think: "GKC" International Airport! The Friends of the BIG Chicken Association was founded in 1993 in response to the threat by KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) that they would tear down the 55Â-BIG Chicken Statue, and NOT rebuild it. With the professional support of STAR 94 Radio DJ-- Mr. Steve McCoy, the grassroots effort of thousands around the world was successful in convincing KFC to rebuild the BIG Chicken statue. Johnny DÂFarmer, chairman of the board (aka John Randolph Naugle) is a professional clown who co-founded the non-profit: Friends of the BIG Chicken Assoc. He has donated his time and talent to 100+ non-profit organizations throughout metro-Atlanta, performed at the White House, and also has founded 2001: An Earth Odyssey (which unites environmental and humanitarian initiatives). In addition to this, he was concerned enough about the well-being of his community that he campaigned to be elected Mayor of Marietta, Georgia in 1993 & 1997. ### If you would like more information about this new "GKC" International Airport Petition, or to schedule an interview... please contact Johnny DÂFarmer of USA (jd_farmer2001 'at' hotmail.com), or call 678/643-2001 (for media only). note: The "E-mail Us Here" link in the top right of this Press Release is NOT working.
