WeatherforYou.com Partners With AnythingWeather to Expand Personal Weather Station Program WeatherforYou.com has expanded the exposure of personal weather stations featured on their site. Through a partnership with AnythingWeather, stations that send data to WeatherforYou.com and HAMweather will now have their information also displayed on AnythingWeather.com. Lincoln, CA (PRWEB) August 18, 2003 -- WeatherforYou.com has expanded the exposure of personal weather stations featured on their site. Through a partnership with AnythingWeather, stations that send data to WeatherforYou.com and HAMweather will now have their information also displayed on AnythingWeather.com.
Since November, 2000, WeatherforYou.com and HAMweather has collected data from thousands of personal weather stations around the world. This information is displayed on WeatherforYou.com, can be used with the HAMweather scripts on other web sites, shared among personal weather station users and is distributed to the National Weather Service for research and educational purposes. The data will now be made available to AnythingWeather where it will be used on their web pages.
Home weather stations manufactured by Oregon Scientific, LaCrosse, RainWise, Columbia Weather Systems and others hook directly into the users personal computer. The computer processes the data from the weather station through a variety of stand-alone software programs, such as Weather Display, Virtual Weather Station and FreeWX. The programs automatically update the information at WeatherforYou.com at various intervals, usually at least once an hour. AnythingWeather also developed an exclusive on-site reporting solution called the Skyview Weather System (SWS)". This system combines a high-quality weather station with a web camera that delivers on-site weather information and live images without the need for a computer.
According to Joe Torsitano of WeatherforYou.com, Im excited to partner with AnythingWeather to give personal stations more exposure. I started (the site) almost five years ago to highlight the contributions of personal weather stations and provide a central point for data exchange." Torsitano also said he hope to partner with other sites in the future to further extend the visibility of the personal stations contributing data.
Gregg Potter, President of AnythingWeather.com explained, This partnership with WeatherforYou.com is consistent with our direction of offering as many site-specific locations across the world as possible. Every new site we add to our network will increase the availability of data for our clients and data sharing partners."
