HINDU SWAYAMSEVAK SANGH (HSS) LAUNCHES A UNIQUE CHILDRENÂS MAGAZINE FOR SECOND GENERATION HINDU AMERICANS- FIRST OF ITS KIND IN THE U.S.
HSS launches a unique children's magazine, for children, by children. This first of its kind magazine is intended to impart Hindu values in an entertaining and challenging manner to the second generation Hindu Americans.
Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (PRWEB) August 30, 2003 -
Boston, MA, September 1, 2003Âprofit, cultural organization focused on Hindu community in the USA launched ÂBalagokulam Magazine on the auspicious occasion of Rakshabandhan.
This quarterly magazine is expected to provide cultural education to the second generation Hindu Americans in the United States.
Balagokulam magazine is the first of its kind outside India, meant exclusively for second-generation Hindu children. ÂFirst time in America an ethnic minority has successfully launched a magazine which is completely managed by the children, said Suresh Jain, a spokesperson for Balagokulam Magazine. The Balagokulam magazine is Âof the children, by the children and for the children, he added.
This magazine includes stories on Hindu personalities such as national leaders and scientists; arts and Vedic Mathematics; crossword puzzles; interesting and easy to conduct home experiments; discussions on second generation issues such as dating and gender gap; and a section dedicated to Hindu teenagers. The magazine will also be a forum for all Hindu children in the USA to participate in contests and win attractive prizes.
ÂThe magazine will fill a big gap that exists today. It will impart critical Hindu cultural education in an interesting and exciting manner. At a time when HinduismÂs contributions such as Yoga are increasingly adopted by the American Society, it is crucial for second-generation Hindu Americans to be knowledgeable about their Hindu heritage, continued Suresh Jain.
HSS runs ÂBalagokulams or Children Centers throughout the USA to impart Hindu cultural values to children. HSS also runs programs for youth, adults and parents that focus on complete personality development (physical and intellectual), teamwork and inculcation of friendship towards other human beings.
ÂThe structured activities of Balagokulam inculcate self discipline, team work and instill confidence amongst Hindu youth of America about their religion, culture and value system concluded Suresh Jain.
