NEW ONLINE SCHOOL TARGETS STUDENTS WITH LOVE OF NATURE AND GOURMET TASTE

The Nature of Writing announces the launch of its new online program offering classes in nature, food, memoir, and adventure writing

Los Angeles (PRWEB) August 31, 2003 - A new school offering writing classes via the Internet will officially open for business on September 1, 2003. The founder, Jena Ball, promises small, personalized courses that "nourish the heart and mind."

Ms. Ball is a veteran journalist and writing instructor with more than twenty years experience teaching ESL, business, technical, and creative writing as well as journalism. Most recently she has been writing and teaching online classes for private schools and universities.

Dozens of students have already benefited from Ball's personable approach and challenging assignments, and many have gone on to publish. Says one student, "What a learning tool you have given me. WOW!!! Thank you so much. I wish you all the success in the world...Move over Tom Clancy I'm comin through." Another had this to say, "I had an absolutely WONDERFUL experience with this class. I feel like I have discovered a voice I never knew I had. Your guidance has been sensitive, encouraging, and tirelessly thorough...I hope I will be able to take another one of your classes."

"Nothing is more intriguing or rewarding than working with authors to expand and improve their writing skills," says Ball. "That's because writers are thinkers. It's their job to examine new ideas and dig deep within themselves for answers. As an instructor I give gentle nudges, ask tough questions, and explore possibilities with them. And in every class we read and discuss the work of some of the best writers working today. I can't think of a better way to spend my time."

Each class revolves around a particular genre of writing, and focuses on honing reading, writing, and critiquing skills. "By understanding what is or isn't successful in another's writing," says Ball, "you become a better judge of your own work." In addition, each student receives honest and detailed feedback from the instructor. "It takes a lot of guts to put your writing out there," says Ball, "so my goal is always to encourage as well as critique. Each writer needs to know that he or she is a gift to the rest of us - that his or her stories are valuable because no one else can write them."

Classes at The Nature of Writing are scheduled to begin October 6th. and will run for either eight or ten weeks. Tuition is $250- per person for eight -week classes or $270- per person for ten-week classes. Private tutoring is also available at a cost of $50- per hour.
