NEW JERSEYS OWN CHRISTINE MARTUCCI AND HER BAND ENTER THE FINAL ROUND OF SAMMY HAGARS CABO WABO COMPETITION

After winning the semi-final round of a local band competition at the Hard Rock Cafe in Atlantic City, The Christine Martucci band has placed third among the final five bands competing to win the exciting chance to open for Sammy Hagar in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Voting took place online at www.cabowabo.com -- where fans could vote for their favorite band -- and came to a close on August 29th. Now Sammy Hagar himself, along with Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony and three other heavy hitting industry representatives will choose the band that will open for Sammy in Cabo. The decision will be announced on September 19th. "The Christine Martucci Band would like to thank all of our fans, friends, and everyone who voted for us, for allowing us to be in the final five," Christine said when informed of her bands position in the final stage of the competition, which featured twenty-five bands. The guys and I will definitely be making a toast of Cabo Wabo Tequila to Sammy tonight! Cabo here we come!"

A New Jersey native who grew up singing and playing guitar, Christine fronted the hard rock band, Early Warning, at age 20. Her solo debut CD, Mama Says, was released in July to enthusiastic reviews. Christines blues rock style and emotionally rich voice commands attention, whether shes delivering a tender ballad or belting out one of her rock anthems. From the soulful, driving rocker, Hearts On Fire," to the passionate undercurrent of Release Me" and the honky-tonk, Stones-inspired rock feel of Home," Christine and her band offer a fresh approach to female fronted rock bands. Out.com said, Listening to her blues-tinged and guitar-fueled debut album, it is easy to imagine Christine Martucci cranking out passionate heartland anthems to enthusiastic classic-rock crowds. Her slightly raspy vocal style is reminiscent of Melissa Etheridges, but she only really reveals her range on the power ballad Wings" and blues-inspired Love Circles." We expect to be hearing more from Martucci in the years to come." Other reviews have been equally enthusiastic, to wit:

Christine Martucci is one of New Jersey's most energetic rockers, and that energy is captured on her indie debut CD, Mama Says. Such classic rock-inspired anthems as the opening "Can You Feel It," the single "Hearts on Fire," the fired-up "Full Steam Ahead," the peace-seeking "She Don't Know," the passionate "Release Me" and the surging "Home" will get the crowd up on its feet and its fists in the air." -- The Courier News

Mama Says will lift you up, touch your heart and rock your soul. Christine Martucci is the real deal." -- Ink19.com

We feel great about the entire Cabo Wabo contest experience," Christine says. It was a close battle with a lot of great band, and it makes you feel good when you know youre up against some very talented performers. It has definitely raised the bar for me, as a singer and a songwriter." Christine Martucci is available for interviews.
