Atlanta, Ga. (PRWEB) March 25, 2008 The Georgia Center for Nonprofits (GCN) announces in keeping with the theme VISION: The Power To Transform, Robert Eggers, has been revealed as a key note speaker at the 17th Annual Georgia Nonprofit Summit May 5-6 2008 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Atlanta. The Summit is the largest gathering of nonprofit professionals in the Southeast. Each year hundreds of leaders from the corporate, government, academic and nonprofit arenas come together to address and exchange ideas and solutions about the top issues impacting the nonprofit community. Eggers has been an inspiration and revolutionary leader to all nonprofits serving a public cause. As the founder of DC Central Kitchen, he is one of the first to introduce the concept of social entrepreneurship to the nonprofit community. Egger's keynote address will center on his new movement for the nonprofit sector, the V3 Campaign. Funded with his own money, the V3 Campaign was created to demonstrate the importance of the nonprofit sector. It is designed to strongly influence political leaders on all levels to take a stance on how they plan to support and strengthen the nonprofit sector. Through the V3 Campaign's website, nonprofits are able to submit questions or concerns they have for a political candidate. In return, the V3 website will submit this information to the political candidate of choice. Once the candidate responds, their response is posted on the website and progress around the issue is tracked through the site. Not only will the new movement give the nonprofit sector a voice in politics, but it also makes political leaders accountable for the things they promise their constituents. With millions of people working and volunteering in the nonprofit sector, the impact a campaign like this can have is immeasurable.
