Local Military Brat Group Meeting

Anyone who grew up in the military, known as a Military Brat, is invited to attend a free discussion group of the book "Military Brats: Legacies of childhood inside the fortress" by Mary Edwards Wertsch. The meeting will be held in Dana Point, California on Saturday, October 4 or Sunday, October 5 depending on the preferences of those who wish to attend.

GOAL: To break through the particular obstacles and patterns in our lives that we now know are directly connected to our military and post military family dynamic and experiences. To understand ourselves.

PURPOSE: Open and frank discussion of experiences, addressing negative and positive impacts, their origins and how you may go about resolving anything you need to. Whether it makes sense or not, well all understand.

OBJECTIVE: To retain the spirit in which Mary Edwards Wertsch explores the following:

Our individual role or identity within the Fortress.

Where we might find ourselves stuck and need to resolve to move forward by Examining the Four Legacies and the Four Tasks.

Incorporate the three C's...clarity, compassion and connection Participants personally tracking "progress" on understanding themselves.
