Broadview Heights, OH (PRWEB) March 25, 2008 MediQuant™, Inc., a provider of advanced "front-end" software solutions designed to improve a hospital's revenue cycle and compliance with governmental regulations, announced today that it offers immediate compliance with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) new Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) form. CMS announced on March 3, 2008 that healthcare providers (including independent laboratories), physicians, practitioners and suppliers may begin using the revised ABN for all situations where Medicare payment is expected to be denied. The revised ABN replaces the existing ABN-G (Form CMS-R-131G), ABN-L (Form CMS-R-131L) and NEMB (Form CMS-2007). CMS is allowing a six month transition period from the date of implementation for use of the revised form and instructions. All providers and suppliers must begin using the revised ABN (CMS-R-131) no later than September 1, 2008. Mediquant's First Comply™ software package offers immediate compliance with the new ABN form mandate, providing the "front end" solution to check the diagnosis against the procedure according to the LCD/NCD. For those encounters that fail the medical necessity requirements, the new ABN form will be produced for the patient to sign. Selecting appropriate CPT and ICD codes is simplified via key word search, order screens and other proprietary search methodologies. The software streamlines the entire medical necessity process for use in central scheduling, registration, lab, radiology, patient accounting, H.I.M. and physician offices. About MediQuant, Inc.
