What If We Became The Taliban? New Novel Explores a Country Suffering in the Name of Morality."

Libertarian author, Kathryn A. Graham, explores these questions and what to do about them in her recently published adventure, Flight From Eden," from The Writers Collective. In the near future, terrorism moves a frightened American population to give up their precious civil rights and submit to a fanatical regime that promises a return to Christian morals. Instead, they find that the new regime is entirely lacking in the Christian virtues of tolerance and compassion, but strong in its hunger for power over every aspect of American life.

In a country where every word, every thought, must conform to government mandated standards, where travel across a county line requires a special passport, and where the slightest infraction of government mandated morality is punishable by torture and death, only one small group of men and women refuse to give up. A young astrophysicist, a computer expert, an engineer, a mercenary who admits to sadistic tendencies, a cashiered USAF officer -- this unlikely band of allies comes together in a desperate pact to do the impossible, knowing from the beginning that success will mean their deaths. Knowledge is what this tyrant most fears, and knowledge is what they will give him -- in spades.

What they will learn, and what they will teach us, will change our world forever.

Flight From Eden" is not an indictment of Christianity, but of fanaticism in any form. It is a novel about courage, honor, hope -- and freedom.

The author, Kathryn A. Graham, is a licensed private investigator and a firearms instructor in Texas. She is a prolific Libertarian author, but this is her first novel to be published. She has followed closely the actions of our government in the years following the terrorist attacks on our nation and is deeply disturbed by the steady erosion of our civil liberties. "I took these actions being perpetrated in the name of 'homeland security' and carried them through to the extreme," she explains.

Flight From Eden is a warning," Kathryn continues. This is the path we are on today. Its very early days yet, but you dont have to be a rocket scientist to see where this country is going. The very name 'homeland security has a disturbing ring to it."

Mostly, though," she also admits, I wrote it to entertain. Its an adventure. A romp. A ray of hope. And just wait until you read the sequel," she adds with a grin.

Flight From Eden" is the first of four books to be released in the Eden series.

Reviews:

"Ms. Graham starts building the suspense on the very first page . . . I only hope that her story of martial law and the suppression of individual rights remains a fictional tale."

Michael Badnarik, Libertarian Candidate for U.S. President, 2004

These brave freedom fighters must live as fugitives, must come to grips with their own fears and accept the necessity of even their own deaths in order to protect and complete the mission they have set for themselves, and despite capture and torture, sabotage, betrayal and the sure and certain knowledge that success will mean that they will die millions of miles away from their homes, they persevere against greater odds than any rebellion has ever fought before. This story is so dramatic and exciting that youll come to regard each of them as a friend, and detest interruptions that make you put this book down for even a a few moments!"

Wayne Hicks, Sierra Times

"Kathryn A. Graham has done her research. To my untrained eye, the characters in Flight From Eden might have come from NASA . . . You won't want to put it down until you find out what happens to them."

Judy Schuler, Heartland Reviews

Kathryn A. Graham gets it right in Flight from Eden. This tale of a secret space flight project taking shape in a dystopian future United States hits the ground running and never stops."

Thomas L. Knapp, Rational Review
