CDC Calls for Unification of the Democratic Party Internal disagreements must be set aside, for the common good of the party. Las Vegas, Nevada (PRWEB) September 17, 2003--- The Conservative Democratic Caucus (CDC) the voice of conservative democrats, is calling for unity within the Democratic Party. Conservatives, moderates, liberals, centrists, and greens must come together as democrats, if we want to have a real impact on the composition of our government in the upcoming election cycle. Only by choosing to set aside our differences and stand united as Democrats will any of our platforms be recognized. Diversity has long been one of the true strengths of the Democratic Party, but in recent years the party unity that existed during the Clinton years has disintegrated. Now only by rediscovering our common ground as Democrats and electing our candidates will we ever make a difference.
The Democratic Party is known as the party of the common man, together we must embrace that universal democratic concept, our collective desire to serve the people. Let us choose to draw strength and resolve from our differences to enable us to fulfill our shared goal of representing the interests of the people. The Republican Partys propaganda machine has done an excellent job in the media of painting our party with a single brush, as a group of disenfranchised extremists. We must now show the American people that the Democratic Party represents the most noble ideals upon which America was built, different people, from different backgrounds, with different opinions banded together beneath the banner of the American dream.
Former Democratic Party Chair Ron Brown once said "The common thread of Democratic history, from Thomas Jefferson to Bill Clinton, has been an abiding faith in the judgment of hardworking American families, and a commitment to helping the excluded, the disenfranchised and the poor strengthen our nation by earning themselves a piece of the American Dream. We remember that this great land was sculpted by immigrants and slaves, their children and grandchildren."
The Republican Party has made its mark by appealing to people not with issue driven platforms but by using emotional rhetoric, playing on the publics fear, uncertainty, and doubt. We must counter the Republicans emotional propaganda with the strength of our issues, an appeal to the intelligence of the American people. As a party we must understand that we will never beat the Republicans on their terms, and they in turn, cannot beat us on the issues. Let us all as democrats go forward and take the issues to the people, as a party united.
About the Conservative Democratic Caucus
The CDC was founded in 2002 by a group of conservative and moderate democrats who were concerned over the direction and public perception of the Democratic Party. The CDC's goal is to be the voice of the people, the conservative and moderate "silent majority" of Democrats, to win back the disenfranchised "Reagan" Democrats, and to change the public perception that the Democratic Party is composed entirely of extremists, and you can help. www.demsforamerica.com ###
