Canadian Pharmacy Credentials Not Enough for Americans Buying Drugs at Online Pharmacies

A leading online drugs company, NorthWestPharmacy.com, warns Americans to look for more than just key accreditations before buying Canada drugs.

(Vocus/PRWEB) February 15, 2011

NorthWestPharmacy.com, an online Canadian pharmacy which serves hundreds of thousands of Americans, is urging consumers to review more than accreditation seals of Canadian online pharmacies they plan to buy drugs from. While most media reports focus exclusively on third party accreditations, NorthWestPharmacy.com stresses the importance of genuine customer reviews as much as it does third party credentials and seals.

“NorthWestPharmacy.com has the accreditations that every customer should look for, including Canadian International Pharmacy Association certification, buySAFE buyer assurance and TRUSTe certified privacy,” notes Aman Bhangu, NorthWestPharmacy.com’s Canadian pharmacy Manager. Mr. Bhangu has more than a decade of varied experience having worked as licensed pharmacist in retail pharmacies in the USA and Canada as well as at Canadian online pharmacies for the past several years.

Pharmacist Bhangu is adamant that patients should go further than just ensuring the website they plan to buy drugs online from has the aforementioned accreditations. “In my experience, service levels can vary immensely and the most important thing patients should check once they’ve verified the accreditations is the online pharmacy’s reviews,” he says. He cautions, however, that patients should avoid the sort of online pharmacy reviews websites on which anyone can sign up, create an account and start posting reviews. “It is readily apparent that half or more of the reviews on such sites are fake and posted either by the owner of the business or a bitter competitor,” he warns.

The following are Pharmacist Bhangu’s criteria for evaluating whether a Canadian online pharmacy’s reviews and ratings are sure to be authentic, legitimate and useful:

  •     Canadian pharmacy reviews must be collected and displayed by a third party and not the website that is being reviewed
  •     All ratings and comments must be publicly displayed (no filtering of the bad reviews)
  •     Reviews and ratings must be collected only from customers who are proven to have actually purchased from the online Canadian drugs website
  •     The Canadian online pharmacy should have at least 5000 such reviews and be rated across several dimensions such as whether the customer recommends the company, would buy again, the prices, product satisfaction, delivery time and customer service.

NorthWestPharmacy.com is the most independently reviewed and 5 star rated Canadian online pharmacy website serving Americans. To date, nearly 10,000 of its customers have given the company stellar reviews through a leading third party online ratings and review portal, Shopper Approved. All these reviews of NorthWestPharmacy.com are collected and displayed independently by Shopper Approved and NorthWestPharmacy.com is not able to alter or filter them. Each customer is given the opportunity to post a review and give ratings only after making a purchase online.
