This latest patent provides meaningful differentiation to Awarepoint in providing a configurable security method to alert users when a tag has been removed from a device. The tag removal sensor is specifically designed in a manner that conserves power, preserving the long battery life of Awarepoint's active RFID tags.

There are numerous applications, in healthcare and in other markets, when tag removal detection is of paramount importance.
