Knowledge Infusion and ERE Media Future of Recruiting and Sourcing Survey Reveals Measurement, Integration, and Sourcing of Candidates as Top Issues Faced by Recruiters Nearly 700 recruiting professionals provide data on evolving trends including challenges, priorities, and use of technology. San Diego, CA (PRWEB) April 2, 2008 -- Knowledge Infusion, the recognized consulting authority on human resource, talent management, and talent acquisition solutions; and ERE Media, Inc., the largest online community for recruiters, announced initial results from the joint survey: The Future of Recruiting and Sourcing at the ERE Expo. As part of the ongoing market research delivered through the Knowledge Infusion Center of Excellence (http://www.knowledgeinfusion.com/coe), the recruiting survey indicates that while recruiting professionals consider their efforts outstanding, the ability to tie recruiting success to key business drivers and metrics, lag greatly.
Nearly 700 recruiting professionals responded to the survey with 75 percent having over 5 years of practical experience. Almost half of the respondents rate their recruiting and sourcing efforts as "above average" or "excellent," yet over half of the respondents stated they are not satisfied with the average time it takes to fill a position.
Additional key findings from the survey indicate:
* The top indicator of success in recruiting is measured by time to fill, but an overwhelming 70 percent of respondents cite their efforts to measure recruiting impact on overall success of the business is average, poor, or very poor. * Social networks have emerged as an important tool for sourcing and creating a dialogue with prospective employees. Leading with 75 percent of the survey responses, LinkedIn is by far the most popular social network for recruiters. * National job boards are still the most used solution for recruiting and sourcing according to the survey respondents, and were also defined as the most effective solution for recruiting and sourcing. * 47 percent of respondents indicate that there is no integration to other talent management applications or processes including HRMS, onboarding, performance management, or succession management.
"Technology advances and industry needs are forcing the recruiting role to evolve at a record pace," said Elaine Orler, vice president of Talent Acquisition Management for Knowledge Infusion." While recruiters are embracing new technology, the survey results show there is opportunity to better align with the business, and transform from the more tactical role of managing resumes to a more strategic role of having the right talent in the right position at the right time."
The key findings from the survey will be available to premium members of the Knowledge Infusion Center of Excellence at www.knowledgeinfusion.com/coe.
