MedicalTranscription.com, an advertising web space for medical transcription service companies and individual transcriptionists, reported this week that sales leads reached an all-time monthly high, with 154 leads being emailed to transcription services for the month of August 2003.

The web portal offers three levels of advertising, its "gold" level, also known as Transcription Match, being reserved only for those companies with a proven level of experience in medical transcription. Transcription Match puts companies into a database which is used to perform "match requests" initiated by physicians and medical facilities visiting the site.

After a physician submits a brief form indicating his transcription needs, an automated process matches up his requirements with the abilities of the companies in the database. A list of services matching the physician's needs is sent to the doctor, and sales leads are then sent to the individual companies so that they can follow up by providing their service information to the physician.

"People often ask why physicians visit MedicalTranscription.com," states Nistad. "In a survey we conducted to the physicians visiting our site, more than 98% indicated that they had simply typed the words "MedicalTranscription.com" rather than launch an exhaustive internet search for individual transcription services. Most indicated that it was the first site they visited when seeking information about medical transcription."

Only companies based in the US and Canada are permitted to advertise on MedicalTranscription.com.
