Lakes of Bella Terra Welcomes Its Newest Neighbors: Kohl's, Wal-Mart and The Shops at Bella Terra

Lakes of Bella Terra, West Houston's most dynamic new destination to live, play and grow, can now add "shop and dine" to its vast array of offerings. Phase One of The Shops at Bella Terra kicks off on April 8th with the grand opening of Kohl's, one of its anchor retailers. Houston, TX (PRWEB) April 8, 2008 -- Lakes of Bella Terra, West Houston's most dynamic new destination to live, play and grow, can now add "shop and dine" to its vast array of offerings.

Phase One of The Shops at Bella Terra kicks off on April 8th with the grand opening of Kohl's, one of its anchor retailers. Following closely on Kohl's heels is a Wal-Mart Super Center, which is scheduled to open in June.

Situated on nearly 100 acres, the Shops at Bella Terra will ultimately be home to 600,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space.

"What a fabulous addition this will be for our community and the entire surrounding area," said Lisa Clark, Vice President of Ryko Development, Houston's 2006 "Developer of the Year". "For our homeowners, the benefits go way beyond convenience. The shops and restaurants provide even more places for neighbors to gather and get to know one another as they are out and about."

Located just down the street from Lakes of Bella Terra, the Shops at Bella Terra will, in many ways, look and feel like an extension of the community.

"We have great respect for Bassam Barazi (President of Ryko Development), and the communities he has developed," said Lance Gilliam, Managing Director of Moody Rambin Interests, owner and developer of The Shops at Bella Terra. "We actually changed our original name for the shops to reflect its relationship to Lakes of Bella Terra. We also chose architectural materials and designed our landscaping plan to aesthetically complement the community."

The residents of Lakes of Bella Terra will appreciate the road improvements being made by Moody Rambin in conjunction with the shops and restaurants.

"We're spending $8 million for public improvements--adding traffic signals, additional lanes, and deceleration lanes to contribute to its overall accessibility and safety," added Gilliam.

The Shops at Bella Terra are the latest example of how Lakes of Bella Terra has gone from a community "growing up" to a vibrant, exciting destination.

Another example is Westlake Preparatory Lutheran Academy, which is situated on 50 acres adjacent to the Lakes of Bella Terra. Currently under construction and scheduled to open this August, the first phase of Westlake Prep will serve students from pre-school through third grade. In addition, "Before And After School Care" will be available from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm. For more information about Westlake Prep, visit westlakeprep.org.

"Right now is an especially great time for people to visit Lakes of Bella Terra because we're hosting West Houston's Big To-Do," said Clark. "For 10 special Saturdays, we're treating prospective homebuyers to fabulous activities and over $10,000 in prizes. A complete schedule of activities and prizes is available at LakesOfBellaTerra.com."

Executive Homes are now selling at Lakes of Bella Terra from the $180's to the $600's. 10 models are now open. Executive Home builders include Newmark Homes, Darling Homes, David Weekley Homes, David Powers Homes, Fedrick, Harris Estate Homes, Village Builders, Westport, and Wilshire Homes.

Estate Custom Homes tucked into a gated, waterfront enclave within the community are now selling from the $700's to $2 million. Estate Custom Homes are true, one-of-a-kind creations by Masterpiece Custom Builders, Ronny Carroll Custom Homes and Westport.

Lakes of Bella Terra's multi-million dollar Recreation Center is now open. It features a Jr. Olympic pool, water playground, tennis courts, volleyball courts, state-of-the-art fitness center, and community gathering rooms.

Lakes of Bella Terra is located just 2 miles from the Westpark Tollway, about 15 minutes from the Energy Corridor and 30 minutes from downtown. For directions and hours, visit LakesOfBellaTerra.com
