Kerbeaz Motivation Web Site Motivates Kids by Rewarding Achievement

Fun, convenient online motivation tool connects kids with their parents, grandparents, teachers, coaches, and other close adults who want to motivate them by rewarding their achievements. Unlike star charts and other 'refrigerator tools,' Kerbeaz enables out-of-household family and friends to participate in children's accomplishments.

Weston, MA (PRWEB) April 8, 2008 -- Kerbeaz, Inc. announces the launch of the Kerbeaz Website to connect kids with their parents, grandparents, teachers, coaches, and other close adults who want to motivate them by rewarding their achievements. Whether it's a high SAT score, perfect school attendance, hitting a home run or putting dirty laundry in the hamper, Kerbeaz makes it fun and easy to reward achievement, no matter how large or small. Kerbeaz provides an ever-expanding library of popular tasks and goals to get people started.

"Parents, teachers and coaches are always asking kids to do things, or trying to get them to reach for higher goals in school or sports or at home," says Cliff Hirsch, founder & CEO of Kerbeaz. "Kids naturally want to please these important adults in their lives, and they also want lots of stuff that the adults may not want to buy. Kerbeaz is a fun, easy-to-use website that satisfies everyone: the kids get rewards, the adults see things accomplished, and everyone stays connected."

Unlike star charts and other 'refrigerator tools,' Kerbeaz enables out-of-town family and friends to participate in children's achievements. By using Kerbeaz, divorced parents, grandma in Florida, or parents with kids at college or boarding school can have more interaction with their children. Kerbeaz even allows a witness, like the local parent or teacher, to participate, providing proof of the accomplishment.

"Learn-to-earn programs are taking off throughout the country, validating the benefits of rewards-based motivation," explains Hirsch. "From study programs to improving performance on college-prep exams, rewarding achievement is making a positive impact on young people's lives. However, some programs are controversial and highly structured, with large corporate sponsors and layers of bureaucracy. Kerbeaz lets educators instantly experiment with various types of rewards-based motivation strategies."

Anyone can use Kerbeaz to create goals and tasks that reward achievement, motivate positive behavior and strengthen relationships. Using the Kerbeaz Web site, both children and adults create "contracts" that let kids earn points for completing a chosen task or achieving a certain goal. The site allows participants to negotiate the specifics of the task, reward and timeframe; update progress; exchange comments; invite additional participants, and much more.

Kerbeaz can be used for free to track tasks and rewards. Once the child achieves the goal, the adult transfers points to the child. These points can represent real money, a homework pass, or anything else that motivates children. For example, a teacher can use Kerbeaz to track the number of points earned over the course of a semester and then give a real reward based on the total.

For convenience, adults can also purchase Beazels, the Kerbeaz currency, which can be transferred to kids who then redeem them for kid-friendly stuff like popular gift cards, movie tickets, t-shirts and more. Especially for out-of-towners, transferring Beazels is easier than trying to send a dollar or other small reward in the mail. For kids, seeing stuff on the Kerbeaz site that they can buy with their Beazels provides even more motivation.

"As a parent, I know just how many things my children think they need," says Hirsch. "Rather than simply doling out money and things all the time, I want them to have a sense of accomplishment, of earning, so that they can begin to connect effort with reward and feel good about themselves in the process. I also want to increase the interaction between my children and their grandparents, located 2,000 miles away. Kerbeaz helps me do that in a fun, easy manner where everyone wins."
