Seascape Marine Builders Offers Mobile Yacht Repair Service Anywhere in BC

Taking on all sizes of repairs from small topcoat repair to major mechanical overhaul and re-design or re-build of existing structure.

Maple Ridge, BC, Canada (PRWEB) March 3, 2005-- Seascape Marine Builders has launched its mobile marine repair service for both pleasure craft and commercial vessel owners anywhere in BC, company president Julie James announced today. The yard is also now offering complete refit services for high-end yachts at its facility on the Fraser River 45 minutes from Vancouver.

Seascape will assign and quickly dispatch teams of expert mechanics, engineers, and/or specialists in fibreglass, electronics or woodworking as required to perform fast repairs on vessels where and when needed. The yard has rapidly gained a strong reputation for high quality craftsmanship and precision engineering on new builds such as a 67’ high speed hydrofoil designed by Apollonio Naval Architecture

“Having to have a vessel towed to a repair facility can generate significant costs in both money and lost time on the water – a cruise cut short, a missed delivery date or salmon run,” says James. “And even then you’re at the mercy of whatever happens to be the nearest yard. We saw an opportunity to put our people’s skills to good use wherever and whenever boat owners need them for fast, on-location repairs.”

Seascape’s proven shipbuilding skills – and its close working relationship with Seaforth Marine Group -- are key to its refit service. Seaforth, which offers complete yacht design and marketing services, shares space with Seascape at the Maple Ridge yard and uses the firm as its preferred builder. Seaforth’s in-house design and naval architecture capabilities enable Seascape to offer a complete refit service, from concept to completion. Leading Seaforth’s design team is Mike Harling, best known for his design work on the Prowler 40’ and Queenship’s 70’ Berretta series and for his engineering and production work on legendary yachts including the Mary J I and II, Reminisce, and Saratoga.

“We see it as a unique and complementary combination of skills and facilities for refits,” says James. “Our service really simplifies the refit process for owners who want top quality design and craftsmanship in the same place. They don’t have to run around to make sure things are going according to plan. Seaforth and Seascape take care of the whole process, from initial drawing to putting the finishing touches on the upholstery.”
