Aegis Engineering, a solutions based technology and engineering company, has announced the introduction of Aegis-PAD. This revolutionary product places an electronic version of the traditional and familiar “007 PAD” directly into the hands of men and women in Public Safety.

The product was developed after intensive research and development and with an unprecedented combination of experienced Law Enforcement operatives and leading edge technology developers.

Aegis-PAD, targeted to Law Enforcement First Responders, reduces the time required to generate reports and perform queries while providing significant security features. Named after the venerable “007 PAD”, and based on a familiar Palm PDA OS platform, the system is an “always ready” device to support First Responders and their supervisors. Aegis-PAD goes further by featuring pre-built reports, code data retrieval and built-in security features. Aegis-PAD puts information and functionality at the fingertips of the people who use it.

“The 007 PAD has gone digital…and beyond,” said Joe Mykytyn, Vice President of Aegis Engineering and a retired Law Enforcement Officer. “Aegis-PAD accurately generates accident and incident reports, and issues traffic tickets in the field.”

The Aegis-PAD produces printouts and retains information for upload to a main database. The process is designed to be simple, efficient and intuitive. Aegis-PAD also reduces personnel costs, opportunity for error, the need for multiple data input, and mitigates many liability issues.

The product is currently being implemented by a select group of Georgia Law Enforcement Officers, and is available for evaluation by accredited Law Enforcement Agencies. Aegis Engineering expects a comprehensive roll-out beginning in 2004.
