Unique Tropical Latin Entertainment Company Presenting a New Angle to the All-American Salsa Music and Dance Craze - Los Angeles 2003-10-13

The audience welcomes Tropical Latin Caribbean, Inc. (TLC) NuYorican Productions' salsa & Latin jazz promoter Les Rivera to the West Coast salsa scene.

(PRWEB) October 13, 2003 -- The award winning PBS documentary Buena Vista Social Club, featuring the roots of Cuban music, placed the all-American salsa tropical music craze on the West Coast into high gear.

Prior to that, people often only associated tropical music with the popular TV series "I Love Lucy", featuring Ricky Ricardo's riveting music presentations.

Traditionally only found on a grand scale in its birth place of New York City, salsa clubs and venues began appearing in cities, such as Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco. Salsa, like any other music genre, comes in different styles and forms.

Tropical Latin Caribbean, Inc.'s (TLC) salsa and Latin jazz music promoter Les Rivera speaks from his NuYorican Productions office:

"Our specialty of New York Puerto Rican style live entertainment venues are hard to find on the West Coast. In the salsa music genre, nothing compares to the romantic, spectacular, jazzy, groovy and funky style of New York salsa. Deep rhythmic native salsa music and dance, so appealing to Americans, originated in the heavily Puerto Rican American influenced city of New York!"

"We like to compare our events to that of an opportunity for hardworking people to escape with us to the exotic Tropical Latin Caribbean for a few hours. When people come to our events, even the most conservative of people tend to loosen up totally. New York salsa is hip and trendy.

"Anyone can fully enjoy TLC's events. Are you a dancer? Dance your heart out! Don't dance? Attend our pre-show salsa dance lessons. Or, people may simply listen, look, tap their toes, snap their fingers, meet new friends, or just be themselves."

"TLC's main goal is simply creating happy smiles on people's faces by presenting occasional live shows only, to contribute to the very popular and growing salsa craze on the West Coast."

TLC's next live event is scheduled for October 25, 2003, featuring Robertito Melendez, a New York Puerto Rican, whose band members have played with the likes of Tito Puente and Celia Cruz.

As a former boxing champion, Les Rivera is also heavily involved in his lifelong passion for his sport. "Salsa and Boxing are simply two Latin passions united in a perfect marriage" he says. In his "regular" job he flies jets as a pilot for a major airline.
