realMethods Enhances Security Management with JAAS

realMethods announces the release of version 2.6, which now adds JAAS support to the Framework Security service.

(PRWEB) October 15, 2003

Security is an essential part of many web based and distributed applications. Among the many abstractions and complexities a J2EE framework should encapsulate, security should be near the top of the list. The realMethods Framework now adds JAAS support to its security component. The Framework provides 3 different JAAS LoginModule implementations, (file, database, LDAP), and can facilitate the use of any other user/password based LoginModule. Importantly, a developer can define multiple Framework Security Managers within a single file, making each available to an application. An application that leverages a Presentation Tier generated by realMethods’ Application Infrastructure Builder code generator is automatically provided with integration to a user defined default Security Manager.

realMethods continues to support the Framework open source project with Professional Services that include a variety of support, training, and consulting options. For those requiring a fully warranted J2EE framework, realMethods also offers a commercial license.
