
SUPERCELL SIGNED TO WEST MEMPHIS THREE FILM SOUNDTRACK DALLAS, TX - Alternative-rock band Supercell from Dallas, Texas was recently handpicked, by Academy Award winner Curt Johnson, to be included on the soundtrack to the upcoming West Memphis Three film, scheduled for release in Summer of 2004. (PRWEB) October 15, 2003 DALLAS, TX - Alternative-rock band Supercell from Dallas, Texas was recently handpicked, by Academy Award winner Curt Johnson, to be included on the soundtrack to the upcoming West Memphis Three film, scheduled for release in Summer of 2004. After seeing them perform live, Johnson immediately offered the band the first slot on the soundtrack. ÂIt's great to be signing one of the best up and coming bands to the West Memphis Three film soundtrack. Supercell is one of the best up and coming bands I've heard in a very long time and I look forward to working with them on this project." says Johnson. While many music industry insiders have tapped Supercell as the next band to break from Dallas, Johnson was shocked to find that the band did not yet have a major label deal. The film, Produced by Alex Steyermark (Summer of Sam, Malcolm X, The Ice Storm), Stephen Trask (Station Agent, Prey For Rock n Roll, Hedwig and the Angry Inch) and Curt Johnson (Thoth, X-Files, Common Threads, Once and Again) is being championed by the likes of Eddie Vedder, Metallica, Henry Rollins and Supersuckers. West Memphis Three is a feature film about the true story of three teenagers; Damien Echols, Jessie Misskelley and Jason Baldwin who were unfairly tried in a triple murder case. Echols is now on death row and the other two are serving life sentences in Arkansas state prisons. The filmÂs Producer and Writer is Curt Johnson, Director is Alex Steyermark, Music Composer is Stephen Trask and Ed Saxon (Adaptation, Philadelphia, Silence of the Lambs) is Executive Producer of the film. Cast includes Michael Pitt, Doug Hutchison, Ricki Lake, Gina Gershon, Jason Lee, Drea de Matteo, Donal Logue & Michael Madsen.
