Alpharetta Community Comes Together at Attic Sale Fundraiser for Jack Sanders

Fundraiser planned for local Alpharetta boy with relapsed leukemia. Huge attic sale and family activities planned for Saturday, November 8, at Alpharetta Elementary School.

Alpharetta, GA: On Saturday, November 8, Alpharettans will come together for a community fundraiser in support of Jack Sanders, a local 9-year-old who recently was diagnosed with leukemia for the second time. The event will be held at Alpharetta Elementary School, 192 Mayfield Rd., Alpharetta, from 8 a.m to 4 p.m.

A third grader at the school, Jack previously went through treatment for leukemia, and had been in remission for the past year. A recent checkup revealed the leukemia had returned, and aggressive treatments have already started. Due to the intensity of treatments this time, Jacks mother, Kim, has taken a leave of absence from her position as a nurse to help him recover as quickly as possible. And, as Kim is a single mother, her leave of absence will dramatically affect the familys finances. As word of Jacks condition spread, friends and neighbors as well as local businesses have opened their hearts with an outpouring of support.

As a football player and a baseball player, Jack is well known in Alpharetta. His bright smile and quick wit touch everyone he meets. Friends and family are hopeful for a quick recovery, and that Jack will be back at school and on the ball field soon.

In addition to the huge attic sale, the November 8 event will offer numerous activities for children, including a moonwalk. Several theme baskets will be raffled off, and there will be plenty of food, drinks and other activities for everyone to enjoy.

Donations of items for the attic sale (no clothing items, please) can be made on Friday, November 7th from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the school. Please place price tags on items prior to dropping them off.
