Atlanta Promotional Products Company Debuts Cool New Mascot The Icebox introduces Ping to the Atlanta community. Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) April 15, 2008 -- The Icebox, an Atlanta-based promotional products and corporate apparel supplier (http://www.iceboxonline.com/?utm_source=prweb&utm_medium=onlinepr&utm_campaign=April152008) announces the debut of its new mascot, Ping, the loveable looking penguin that appears as part of the company's logo.
Ping was first introduced to the Atlanta social scene in January when he attended a birthday party for Thrash, of the Atlanta Thrasher's, Ping mingled with other well-known local mascots such as Harry the Hawk, Freddie the Falcon, and Buzz from Georgia Tech, along with several local corporate mascots. Ping wowed the crowd by with his athletic skills as he participated in dodge ball and hockey matches against the other mascots. (watch YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMvVaKKue9I) highlights of Ping on ice.)
Ping was conceived at the same time the Icebox began operations in 2001 and has always been a part of the company's logo, website, and marketing materials, but has never come to life until now. The mascot is a way to help The Icebox reinforce its presence in the Atlanta community, particularly showcasing the company's philanthropic division, Common Threads (http://iceboxonline.com/default.aspx?id=103/?utm_source=prweb&utm_medium=onlinepr&utm_campaign=April152008), which plays a large role in the city's altruistic efforts by providing organizations with promotional products at low or no cost for use at charitable events. "Ping is an extension of our marketing department and is a figure for Common Threads and will appear at marketing-related events such as trade shows or any event we sponsor," says Jordy Gamson, president and CEO of The Icebox. "He is a loveable, cool penguin with lots of personality and he sports good cheer wherever he goes."
Since his inaugural debut, Ping has had a full social calendar, appearing at the Georgia State basketball games, the Atlanta Community Food Bank's Annual Hunger Walk, and alongside the Atlanta Roller Girls. You can expect to see Ping often in the future at a variety of events around Atlanta sponsored by Common Threads, such as the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life events, the Inman Park festival, the Lance Armstrong charity golf tournament, local sporting events, and more.
