(PRWEB) October 31, 2003 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Page 1 of 1 October 27, 2003 Contact: Steve Jacobson, Office: 303-703-6422 ext 2133 (stevej@nhba.com) / Fax: 303-779-6422 (Denver, CO) National Home Buyers Assistance (NHBA) Founder and CEO, Michael Shinn, announced today that former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Henry G. Cisneros has become a member of NHBAÂs Advisory Board. NHBAÂs Advisory Board is co-chaired by former Denver mayor Wellington Webb and Mark Korell, Chairman of Guaranty Bank and TrustÂs Mortgage Banking Group. Former U.S. Senator Alan Simpson is also a member of the board. Cisneros, the former four-term mayor of San Antonio, Texas, served as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) from 1993 to 1997 in the Clinton administration. He is the founder and chairman of American CityVista, whose focus is to build significant numbers of homes  Âvillages within the city  in the central neighborhoods of major metropolitan areas. American CityVista is a joint venture with KB Homes and was formed in August of 2000. Mr. Cisneros is also a member of the Board of Directors for Countrywide Mortgage, the leader in U.S. mortgage lending. NHBA is addressing the needs of over 36 million American families by helping them achieve home ownership through the companyÂs network of investor franchisees. NHBAÂs franchisee owners act as temporary Âprivate bankers for non-traditional home buyers. The franchisees use their money and credit to purchase the clientÂs home of choice, and then contracts with them in a one year lease/option agreement. At the end of the lease, up to 50% of the total rent paid is credited toward the purchase price of the home. The clients can choose any house that they want, new or used, upon approval by the NHBA franchisee. Following several years of concept development and proof-of-concept marketing, NHBA began national franchising in January 2003, and currently has 31 franchisees in 12 states. The infrastructure that supports the NHBA concept took many years to develop. NHBA has proven to be one of the leading young franchise companies in the nation, according to NHBA President Kurt Kempfer, who has over 25 years management experience with some of the nationÂs leading franchise companies. ÂThe nationwide interest in NHBA has been incredible. We believe this franchise is one of the best business opportunities available today because of the investment quality and predictability of residential real estate plus the fact that the franchisee only invests in pre-leased propertiesÂ, Kempfer said. ÂThe NHBA franchise owner becomes a valuable contributor to his community by helping renters become homeowners, many for the first time ever. Creating a new NHBA homeowner produces significant economic benefits for the family today, for future generations, for the community, and for the health of the American economy. NHBAÂs unique business concept has received accolades from its clients, franchisees, and real estate industry groups nationwide over the past year. The company projects that it will have franchised offices in all 50 states by the end of 2004. For further information on NHBA: http://www.nhba.com or call 1-800-905-NHBA
