pYzam.com to Launch FAME on MySpace pYzam.com's FAME application to bring rankings of popularity to the Worlds Largest Social Network Scottsdale, AZ (PRWEB) April 18, 2008 -- pYzam.com, the world's largest MySpace Toys provider, today announced that it will launch FAME on MySpace (www.myspace.com/whatsmyfame), the world's most popular social network. FAME will calculate and rank the popularity of each MySpace profile, allowing users to determine how famous they are. Empowered by MySpace's newly announced Developer Platform (http://developer.myspace.com), pYzam.com was able to easily build, test, and ultimately deploy FAME.
FAME will display each user's ranking among all of MySpace and also shows how they rank amongst their group of friends, their gender, their area, and more. FAME is completely customizable allowing the user to pick options such as the color, their friends, and what rankings to show. The rankings are calculated based on a variety of metrics such as profile views, friends, votes, and referrals that help keep users active and interested as their scores change every hour.
MySpace first introduced their Developer Platform site on February 5, 2008 beginning a one month application development period allowing companies including pYzam.com, time to build and test their applications in a secure environment before going live to the MySpace community.
On March 13, 2008, MySpace launched the public beta of the Application Gallery (http://apps.myspace.com), enabling broader testing of approved applications by allowing public installation. MySpace members can now discover and add new applications from a variety of categories, including FAME, to both their home and profile pages.
"Bringing FAME to MySpace users will combine their competitive spirit with the natural desire to be famous," said Jason Moore, president and general manager, pYzam.com. "Whether it's the next Colbie Caillat that becomes truly famous or just a group of friends that are curious how they compare, FAME will help MySpace rank everyone's popularity."
As with all MySpace Developer Platform applications, FAME will be able to safely access publicly available profile information including a user's friend list, interests, photos & albums, video, as well as status & mood. FAME will have real estate in five places within MySpace including: • A MySpace application profile (users can "friend" the apps) • Access to embed applications on the user homepage (inward facing--for you to see) • Access to embed applications on profiles (outward facing widget--for friends to see) • An application gallery listing • A canvas page
"FAME is a great example of the development community utilizing nearly all the tools at their disposal to create the type of application that just wasn't possible before the MySpace Developer Platform," said Kyle Brinkman, vice president and general manager, MySpace Developer Platform. "The Platform allows us to strengthen relationships with our developers, such as pYzam.com, which will help to enrich the end user experience."
