Cricket Family of Magazines Wins Prestigious Parents' Choice Awards

Thirteen of the Cricket Magazine Group's children's magazines received 2008 Parents' Choice Awards - more than any other publishing company.

Peterborough, NH (PRWEB) April 20, 2008 -- If the crickets sound a little louder this spring, it's because the Cricket family has a lot to chirp about. Thirteen of the Cricket Magazine Group's (http://www.cricketmag.com) children's magazines received 2008 Parents' Choice Awards -- more than any other publishing company. And to celebrate, Cricket is announcing a new lifetime subscription offer that lets children grow up with its family of magazines.

According to the Parents' Choice committee, winning products "entertain and teach with flair, stimulate imagination and inspire creativity... winning products help a child grow in many ways: socially, intellectually, emotionally, ethically, and physically." The awards are determined by a panel of educators, scientists, artists, librarians, parents, and kids and they are designed to provide parents reliable, unbiased information about quality products.

"It's an honor to receive such overwhelming recognition from the Parents' Choice Foundation," says Jason Patenaude, President of Cricket, "Our mission is to provide the highest quality magazines for all children, regardless of age or interest, so it's gratifying to see our entire range of magazines honored. We take our goal, to inspire a reader, very seriously. Receiving so many awards for our work is gratifying, but the awards also reinforce the belief that our magazines are among the best available for children. The scope of the awards also prove that Cricket magazines offer children more choices as they grow from toddlers to young adults."

It's versatility that makes Cricket magazines (http://www.cricketmag.com/pages_content.asp?page_id=906) such a good choice for today's kids. Most kids' magazines are one-size-fits-all, and children often outgrow or lose interest in these magazines before their subscriptions expire. Cricket believes that children have many interests, and their tastes and abilities grow with them. Once part of the Cricket family, children can switch magazines easily to match a new interest.

2008 Parents' Choice Gold awards were presented to Cricket and Spider magazines. Muse, Ask, Babybug, Click, and Dig magazines received Silver awards. Appleseeds, Calliope, Cobblestone, Faces, Ladybug, and Odyssey received 2008 Parent's Choice Approved and Recommended awards.
