Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford Names Cathrine Fischer Schwartz New Executive Director

West Hartford, Conn. – The Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford proudly announces the interim appointment of Cathrine Fischer Schwartz as Executive Director

“We are very happy and excited to welcome Cathrine into her new role as Executive Director,” states Richard Rubenstein, President of the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford. “She is a highly visible leader in our organization. Her background and experience, coupled with her enthusiasm, will greatly enhance the Federation’s efforts to meet the needs of Jews here, in Israel and around the world."

In her new position, Ms. Schwartz will be responsible for all of the internal and external operations and functions at the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford. She will also continue to oversee all community relations, public relations and marketing functions of the Federation and the Jewish Community Relations Council.

Before her appointment, Ms. Schwartz served as Assistant Executive Vice President for Public Affairs and Operations, as well as Director of the Jewish Federation’s Community Relations Council. Prior to that, she was the Associate Executive Director/Community Relations Director at the Jewish Federation of Greater Springfield, Mass.

Her volunteer activities include membership on the Executive Board of the Connecticut Committee for Interreligious Understanding, where she serves as their Public Relations Chair.

Ms. Schwartz has a Bachelor of Science degree from Carnegie-Mellon University and resides in Longmeadow, Mass. Her husband, Roger, works at Chubb Executive Risk in Simsbury, Conn. Their daughter, Malorie, is a freshman at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
