Paper forms may have been replaced with electronic forms but clinical and professional staff members are still spending far too much time performing routine tasks. During a recent webinar, Gartner’s VP of Healthcare, Mike Davis stated that healthcare providers typically only utilize 50-60% of the capabilities of their current applications.

“Our experience is consistent with Mike’s comments,” says Shah, formerly Medibuy’s vice president of provider services. “Unfortunately, many existing IT solutions in hospitals are underutilized, lack effective integration into related systems and are hindered by a lack of consistent policies and procedures.
