Snapvine to Launch Photo Shout Out on MySpace

Snapvine's Photo Shout Out to Bring Voice Enabled Photo Sharing to the World's Largest Social Network

Seattle (PRWEB) April 23, 2008 -- Snapvine, Inc., today announced that it will launch Photo Shout Out on MySpace (http://www.myspace.com/photoshoutout), the world's most popular social network. Photo Shout Out allows MySpace users to bring more expression to MySpace and Photobucket pictures by adding their voice, turning a regular photo into a Photo Shout Out.

Users can create Photo Shout Outs to post on their MySpace profile page, or share with a network of MySpace friends as a MySpace message, comment or bulletin. Empowered by MySpace's newly announced Developer Platform (http://developer.myspace.com), and Photobucket's newly-released API (http://developer.photobucket.com), Snapvine was able to easily build, test, and ultimately deploy Photo Shout Out.

Photo Shout Out allows MySpace users to choose a MySpace pic, or seamlessly log into their Photobucket account to choose a photo, or search the Photobucket site. Users can then add a voice comment or 'shout out' either through their computer microphone or dialing a telephone number from one of fifteen supported countries.

MySpace members can send a Photo Shout Out to friends as a message, bulletin or comment all from the application homepage. Favorite Photo Shout Outs can be featured on the user's profile. Photo Shout Outs can be created for any occasion such as Showing Some Luv, Party Alerts, Giving Props, or whatever the creator can imagine. When a Photo Shout Out is received, friends can reply back in their own voice, or create their own Photo Shout Out by adding the application to their homepage.

MySpace first introduced their Developer Platform site on February 5, 2008 beginning a one month application development period allowing companies including Snapvine, time to build and test their applications in a secure environment before going live to the MySpace community.

On March 13, 2008, MySpace launched the public beta of the Application Gallery (http://apps.myspace.com), enabling broader testing of approved applications by allowing public installation. MySpace members can now discover and add new applications from a variety of categories, including Photo Shout Out to both their home and profile pages.

"Photos are one of the most popular ways to express yourself on MySpace, and now people can show even more expression by adding their own voice comments to their photos", said Joe Heitzeberg, Snapvine's CEO. "With the Photo Shout Out application, MySpace users can make their experience using photos more personal, and interactive. Not only can people share their life in photos, they can talk about it."

As with all MySpace Developer Platform applications, Photo Shout Out will be able to safely access publicly available profile information including a user's friend list, interests, photos & albums, video, as well as status & mood. Photo Shout Out will have real estate in five places within MySpace including:

•A MySpace application profile (users can "friend" the apps)

•Access to embed applications on the user homepage (inward facing---for you to see)

•Access to embed applications on profiles (outward facing widget---for friends to see)

•An application gallery listing

•A canvas page

"The launch of the MySpace Developer Platform gives developers like Snapvine a simple way to bring engaging, relevant applications to MySpace users," said Kyle Brinkman, vice president and general manager, MySpace Developer Platform. "The launch of the MySpace Developer Platform marks an evolution in our relationship with developers, like Snapvine, all working to create unique and innovative applications that enrich the MySpace user experience.
