Charleston, SC (PRWEB) April 24, 2008 -- The U.S. folding kayak manufacturer, Folbot, has created a new model that is perfectly suited for urban dwellers. The Citibot has just been unveiled and is the lightest weight boat in the 75-year old company's line of quality kayaks.

The Citibot weighs 24 pounds and is priced at $1,094. The 10' boat fits into one bag with a shoulder harness, making it easy to transport on public transit or fit into a car trunk or backseat. It has a capacity to hold up to 210 pounds and is available in eight colors (Folbot Citibot page (www.folbot.com/kayaks/citibot)). Watch a video of the Citibot being assembled and paddled at Citibot assembly video (www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAxzQWhaaZQ).

The Citibot is designed to fit easily in the relatively confined spaces like apartments and condos, while still providing a quality kayak paddling experience. The Citibot can be assembled in 10 minutes once paddlers arrive at their favorite launch site.

Folbot offers a full line of high quality, 100% U.S.-made specialty kayaks and accessories. A folding kayak has several advantages over a rigid kayak: it is easy to store, portable, is very stable and is extremely quiet on the water. Plus, Folbots eliminate the needs for roof racks. The Folbot line features eight models priced from $1,094 to $2,595. Each model is suited to a different paddling environment or user need.

Folbot has not compromised on quality with the Citibot. Designer Phil Cotton notes: "We introduced a new seat frame that not only holds the seat itself, but also provides structural support for the boat's cockpit. This innovation allowed us to create an affordable boat that still boasts Folbot quality." Another new feature is the seat itself with adjustable firmness, adjustable lumbar support and a supportive backrest. Cotton adds, "It's a sturdy little rascal."

Like all Folbot kayaks, the Citibot comes with a lifetime warranty and will be sold online at Folbot (www.folbot.com) or by phone (800.533.5099). Folbot has a long history of rugged durability, and its kayaks have been paddled worldwide by a dedicated corps of enthusiasts.
