Mulcoms extends Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 mobile capabilities with Fenestrae.

SMS, MMS messaging and mobile access now added for improved communication and collaboration.

(PRWEB) November 12 2003--Mulder Communications announced the availability of new Fenestrae products including the Communication Server and Mobility Server supporting Exchange Server 2003.

Fenestrae products enable users of Exchange 2003 to securely integrate two-way SMS and MMS messaging with Exchange 2003. This allows users to connect with colleagues who are on the road or away from their desks, resulting in significant employee productivity improvements, as they are able to receive alerts on time-critical information and make decisions in real time.

"Communication is central to all business, and different means of communications are multiplying while people are increasingly mobile" said Les Mulder, technical director at Mulder Communications. "The Fenestrae products we distribute and integrate give users the ability to send and receive a wide range of messages from their desks using any e-mail system, and delivers an amazingly large range of data to any mobile device, from basic mobile phones to the latest PDAs and mobile computers. Its easy to use and does not require any client software or training. Due to Fenestrae's native integration with Exchange, SAP and other backend systems, electronic messaging such as SMS is properly managed and adheres to growing and changing compliance regulations."

Fenestrae Communication Server is providing a range of communications services and benefits to a wide range of government and corporate customers.

Rodney District Council in New Zealand is a great example of how using Fenestrae mobile software cuts costs and paper out of the lost dog tracking process" said Mr Mulder. In the past, inspectors carried a print out of the Dog Register" containing information about every dog in the district. This was costly and didn't provide the most up-to-date information. They then tried giving inspectors a portable computer with a mobile phone that could connect to the corporate database, but that was too cumbersome. Now when inspectors find a lost dog, they use their mobile phone to send an SMS message to the system with the dogs tag number. Fenestraes mobile solution queries the Council ERP system (GEMS), and returns live information, including the owner address and contact details, by SMS. The system was easy to implement and users were instantly far more productive."

Utilising new features in Exchange 2003, Fenestrae provides secure, mobile access to full Exchange 2003 and Outlook functionality using any mobile device, including all versions of WAP and I-mode. IT Managers are impressed that Fenestrae's solution for Exchange 2003 enables their company to remain operator independent for improved cost management capabilities. Additionally the end-to-end security the solution provides covers critical authentication and encryption. These compelling technologies combine to work with today's hardware, software and mobile devices already in use to improve employee efficiency.

Other organisations including Postbank, Nestlé, and Aventis Pharmaceutical are gaining a range of benefits, including cost reduction, customer satisfaction, reduced support and systems maintenance costs, and employee productivity from implementation of Fenestrae Communication Server solutions.
