They then tried giving inspectors a portable computer with a mobile phone that could connect to the corporate database, but that was too cumbersome. Now when inspectors find a lost dog, they use their mobile phone to send an SMS message to the system with the dogs tag number. Fenestraes mobile solution queries the Council ERP system (GEMS), and returns live information, including the owner address and contact details, by SMS. The system was easy to implement and users were instantly far more productive."
