(PRWEB) November 13 2003-- Concorde Acceptance employees are rolling up their sleeves and building a home as part of its HomeOwner Community program. "We are very pleased to sponsor Habitat for Humanity and most especially to know that it will help deserving families realize their dreams of becoming homeowners. What is taking place shows the pride and values that we all have as Americans and I know that each member of the Concorde Acceptance team is proud to be here building a house," said Gil Barteau, president of Concorde Acceptance.

More than 500 company volunteers and friends are expected to work on a home this year for a widow, and her daughter. The grateful recipient works at a small medical center attending to the needs of the ill and her daughter is a full-time university student studying to become a doctor. "This is a perfect example of the commitment that Concorde Acceptance is making to improve the quality of life where many of our customers live and work. Our partnership with Habitat is also a natural one since we share with them the goal of helping to develop quality, affordable housing and to ensuring that quality, affordable home loan products and services are available so families can feel confident in assuming the responsibility of homeownership," said Barteau.

To further encourage support of Habitat, Concorde Acceptance will be keeping their customers informed of its Habitat activities and encourage them to get involved in building something special for their communities.

"We recognize that volunteerism is a very important form of support and we believe that through company- sponsored community outreach programs such as ours, employees can bring a heightened awareness of the value in participating in Habitat-like projects and its contribution to the local community," said Barteau

Through the Habitat for Humanity project Concorde Acceptance hopes to enter into numerous partnerships with deserving families to build a house each year in local communities for many years to come. It is gratifying to be able to make a fundamental difference in the lives of a family by helping them realize the dream of home ownership," said Barteau.

About Habitat for Humanity

In building HFH homes, teams of employee volunteers partner with local HFH affiliates. These affiliates are independent, locally run non-profit organizations that coordinate all aspects of Habitat home building in their local area. Habitat has built more than 100,000 houses in 25 years and is raising $500 million to double that by the end of 2005. Habitat for Humanity serves those who earn from 40 percent to 80 percent below median income and who are living in substandard housing. A family must be willing to invest "sweat equity" by working with volunteers to construct the house they will live in. The family must also agree to repay a zero interest mortgage, with terms that extend for 20 years.
