Will Justin Timberlake, who many people think emulates Michael Jackson, actually win the Michael Jackson International Artist of the Year award at this yearÂs American Music Awards in November? Z100 midday air personality Shelley Wade thinks he has a great chance to do just that.
Timberlake vies for the honor against Cher, Madonna, Shania Twain and tour mate Christina Aguilera.
ÂBoth Michael and Justin were the standout talents in their respective groups and then went on to have hugely successful solo careers, said Wade, who is the Midday Air-Personality at Z100 New York. ÂMany people had doubts that Justin could make the transition from being an 'N Sync member to being a totally viable solo artist. When I interviewed Justin this past summer, I told him that he proved the naysayers wrong by delivering a solid album and being one the best performers out there. He told me that he wished his Mom could hear me say that!Â
Wade says that other top 40 artists who are strong contenders for American Music Awards this year are Beyonce (FanÂs Choice Award and Favorite Album  Hip-Hop/R&B), Matchbox Twenty (Favorite Band, Duo or Group), Missy Elliott (Favorite Female Artist  Rap/Hip-Hop) and Black Eyed Peas (Favorite Band, Duo or Group  Rap/Hip-Hop).
The American Music Awards, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, will air on Sunday, November 16 at 8 p.m. Wade is available for interviews about todayÂs popular artists.
